Melissa Macfarlane is an experienced banker leading the transformation of Westpac in her role of Chief Digital Officer.
Melissa first came to New Zealand in 2006 and has held a number of roles with Westpac during her time here. Her current role as Chief Digital Officer sees her lead a team responsible for the design and delivery of a seamless digital customer experience across all banking channels.
Prior to this role, Melissa ran the Transactional Banking and Payments function for Westpac, responsible for the delivery of payments, data and technology solutions to the Corporate & Institutional customer base. Melissa has also held various Product roles, the Chief Operating Officer role for the Institutional, Private, Wealth and Insurance business unit and has enjoyed a number of years in customer facing sales and relationship roles for WNZL.
Originally from England, Melissa spent the first 5 years of her career with Citigroup. Her career started in London, moved to the funds industry in Luxembourg and then continued on to New York, where Melissa was Vice President of Hedge Fund Sales.
