Toby Fiennes is Head of Prudential Supervision for the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ), where he has worked since 2005.
The Prudential Supervision Department is responsible for developing and implementing public policy regarding the regulation and supervising of banks, insurers and non bank deposit takers, and for Anti-Money Laundering Supervision.
Before that, he worked in the supervision of banks and other financial institutions, first at the Bank of England from 1993 and then – when the function transferred – at the UK’s Financial Services Authority. Prior to that he spent 10 years at Barclays Bank in a variety of credit and marketing roles. He holds an MA in Economics from Cambridge University, England.
