Ganesh Iyer moved to Singapore in February 2013 as Senior Vice President, Market and Product Development for HSBC Securities Services (HSS). In his current role, Ganesh oversees all strategic, product and industry initiatives impacting the HSS business and its clients in Singapore. Having spent more than 15 years within the securities industry, Ganesh has extensive experience in securities services products catering to both professional investors as well as market participants. Ganesh also plays a lead role in the bank's thought leadership and market advocacy efforts working with regulators and key industry participants.
Ganesh started his securities career in 1999 with Deutsche Bank, India where he held several roles within domestic custody operations. In 2003, Ganesh joined the Global Markets team of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group (erstwhile ABN AMRO Bank N.V.) where he then set up an offshore team to support the bank’s EU and APAC cash equities and equity derivatives middle office businesses. Following this, Ganesh moved to DBS Bank for a short term in 2006 to set up their domestic custody business in India. Ganesh then joined HSBC in Dubai 2008 where he was responsible for all product development and strategic initiatives for HSS in the region.
Ganesh holds an MBA from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, University of Mumbai.
