Dr David Chieng
David Chieng is currently leading the Location-based technology research in MIMOS focusing on Indoor Navigation & Tracking System. From 2006 to 2010, he was with British Telecom (BT Innovate & Design) leading the Broadband Wireless Access research group focusing on BT Wireless Cities initiative. While in BT he was also a workpackage manager in EU ICT FP7 Carrier Grade Wireless Mesh Network project. From 1999-2002, he was a principal researcher in Brokering Open Network Differentiated Services project funded by Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe Ltd. He was selected as a member of UK@COMDEX 2001 team at Las Vegas, Nevada where he presented his agent brokering system prototype.
From 2003-2006, he was a lecturer, then senior lecturer in Faculty of Engineering, Multimedia University. David received his MSc (electronics) and PhD (computer networks) from Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland, U.K., in 1998 and 2002 respectively. He has published over 60 publications and filed 22 patents in the area of wireless and computing. He is a Chartered Engineer (U.K), member of IET and senior member of IEEE.
