Patrick Ashkettle

Chief Risk Officer / Bank Australia

Patrick is the Chief Risk Officer at Bank Australia, an Australian customer owned bank with just over 3.6B in assets. Patrick’s career began in New Zealand as a graduate inductee at BP before joining a systems processing bureau and software developer working in financial services. From there he joined ANZ in New Zealand before moving to Australia and over the course of 20 years worked in IT audit, IT, project management, acquisitions, payments, risk management, business transformation and operations. Patrick has completed assignments in numerous countries, particularly across Asia. In 2012 he joined SuperPartners as Head of Risk & Compliance and in 2014 commenced as CRO at bankmecu which in 2015 became Bank Australia. Patrick has a bachelor’s degree from Victoria University in Wellington, an MBA from AGSM in NSW and has studied at the London Business School.
