Last year Air New Zealand’s executive made a collective decision that the organisation needed to transform its digital capability and created a new digital function.  Simona joined Air New Zealand in May 2016 to help lead the business transformation in digital and help build the airline’s digital capabilities.

Simona has extensive global experience in leading the delivery of complex, business critical technology transformations in both large enterprises and rapidly evolving start-ups in the USA, Europe and AsiaPac.”

In her previous role of Head of Software Delivery at Spark Ventures, Simona was responsible for creating digital solutions that customers love by applying methods such as business model design, agile development, and human-centred design to take ideas to market. Simona has defined a clear technology roadmap and created a cultural environment where teams can be highly productive and do their best creative work.

Prior to this, Simona held a dual role as Country Manager and Head of Delivery International Strategic Platforms at WEX Inc., a leading global provider of corporate payment solutions where she managed a business unit of 250 people, delivering Platform-as-a-Service to all Wex Asia Pacific and European customers. She has also held senior positions at Tenzing, a leading Management and Technology consulting company and DTCC, an American post-trade financial services company.

Having completed a dual concentration MBA in Finance and IT, a BA in Computer Information Systems and Economics and SIFMA Securities Industry Institute at Wharton School, Simona brings an exceptionally wide skillset to Air New Zealand which will be invaluable in the GM Strategy role.
