Movers & Shakers

June saw a number of high-profile appointments and departures across the financial services sector, with noteworthy additions to CBA, Westpac, and the Bank of Queensland.

Australia

MetLife Australia has appointed Chesne Stafford to the newly created position of Chief Customer and Marketing Officer. MetLife has also appointed Michael Mulholland to the position of Chief Distribution Officer.

Westpac has appointed Guil Lima to the position of Chief Executive of the bank’s business division. Westpac has also appointed Mandy Rutherford to lead its customer remediation team.

Commonwealth Bank has appointed Priscilla Sims Brown to the position of Group Executive Marketing and Corporate Affairs following the retirement of Anna Lenahan on 30 June this year. CBA has also created a separate Group General Counsel and Governance role. David Cohen, Deputy Chief Executive, will serve as interim Group General Counsel manager until the role is filled.

The Bank of Queensland (BOQ) has appointed George Frazis to the position of Managing Director & Chief Executive. Frazis previously served as Chief Executive of the Consumer Bank at Westpac. BOQ has also announced the resignation of Matt Baxby, Chief Financial Officer, who has decided to pursue other leadership opportunities. Baxby will leave the company in October 2019.

Rabobank has appointed Stephen Kelly to the position of Regional Manager Western Australia.

ASX has appointed Peter Nash as a non-executive director.

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, has appointed Jacqueline Hey as the company’s next Chair, succeeding Robert Johanson.

Bupa has appointed Bryan Mogridge ONZM as Chair of Bupa Australia and New Zealand following the resignation of The Hon. Nicola Roxon.

New Zealand

ANZ has appointed Antonia Watson as Acting Chief Executive of ANZ New Zealand, following the departure of David Hisco.
