Claims administrator appoints new head of automation and apps

Claims management administrator Gallagher Bassett (GB) will double down on its automation objectives, appointing a new head of automation and applications.

A 15-year veteran of financial services, Eric Lam will manage GB’s new and existing applications across Australia and New Zealand, as well as the “delivery of further automation opportunities”, the company announced in a statement.

Commenting on his new role, Lam said he will seek to “[drive] efficiencies through automation and artificial intelligence, to ultimately enhance the service we provide to our customers."

GB’s chief information officer, Nathan Pilgrim, said the company's latest recruit “is the perfect candidate to join our information technology team, bringing the right skill set and qualities needed to lead application delivery across GB.”

“Eric has a proven track record in building high performing teams. I look forward to seeing the benefits he can bring to GB and our customers.”

GB was among the first Third Party Claims Administrators to set up shop in Australia, providing a number of claims management services for general, workers’ compensation, and self insurers.
