April and early May saw a number of high-profile appointments and departures across the financial services sector, with notable additions to Westpac, Rest Super, and UniSuper.
 

Australia

Westpac has appointed Jane Watts to the position of General Manager, Retail and Premium Bank.

Rest has appointed Jeremy Hubbard to the newly created position of Group Executive, Innovation and Transformation. Hubbard previously served as UBank’s Chief Information Officer.

UniSuper has appointed Anna Leibel to the position of Chief Technology and Delivery Officer.

Media Super has appointed Tony Griffin to the position of Chief Operating Officer.

AMP has appointed John Patrick Moorhead to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Credit Union Australia has announced the departure of its Chief Executive Officer Rob Goudswaard.

The Federal Government has announced the departure of Alastair MacGibbon as Head of the Australian Cyber Security Centre at the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) after the Federal election. Lieutenant General John Frewen, Principal Deputy Director General at the ASD, will assume the headship of the Cyber Security Centre as interim until the role is permanently filled.

ME Bank has announced three appointments to its board, with Jim Evans appointed as board Chair, alongside new board appointees Peter Everingham and David Issa.

The Financial Services Council (FSC) has also announced three Director appointments to its board: Alex Wade, CEO of AMP’s Australian Wealth Management, Andrew Tobin, CFO Challenger Limited and Jason Yetton, Chief Executive of Commonwealth Bank’s NewCo.

TelstraSuper has appointed Anne-Marie Corboy as Chair of its board.

AMP Limited has appointed Debra Hazelton as a Non-Executive Director to its board.

New Zealand

Suncorp New Zealand has appointed Jane Brewer to the position of Executive General Manager Technology, Data and Labs.
