Gavin Gibson

Head of Customer, Claims / Zurich, Australia and New Zealand

Gavin joined Zurich in January 2017 as the Head of Customer for the Zurich claims team.

He is charged with bringing to life the voice of the customer in claims and to develop a mature, market leading and sustainable customer centric approach to how Zurich and their partners manage claims.  

Immediately prior to joining Zurich Gavin held senior claims leadership roles at QBE, including Head of Short Tail Claims, Project Lead and National Manager of Customer Experience. In addition to his recent claims focused experience Gavin held senior underwriting, product and distribution roles providing him with a broad base to draw from when developing strategy. Gavin started his career working in the family loss assessing business.

Gavin holds a Bachelor of Business in Strategic Human Resource Management, Graduate Diploma in Insurance and is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.

With over 20 years working in the insurance industry, Gavin is a passionate 'customer activist' and believes claims is the critical deliverable for insurance customers.
