Julia manages Wellington’s Digital Innovation Programme. She is responsible for driving opportunities to leverage innovative solutions across the city’s priority areas including transport, resilience, urban development, community safety and asset management. Julia leads an ambitious innovation programme including the city’s Digital Twin, which recently received global recognition as one of 15 cities worldwide to win the Bloomberg Global Mayors Challenge, for its application to support Climate Change Adaptation.
Julia previously held the position of Innovation and Engagement Lead at Smart Docklands – a unique smart city testbed in Dublin. With a background in Community Development and Emergency Management, she has a passion for exploring how we can harness the power of innovation, collaboration and technology to better understand and address complex societal problems. Julia brings extensive experience leading public engagement activities and innovative projects with a broad range of stakeholders from across government, industry, academia and the community.
