Matthew Roberts

Matthew Roberts is the Director of the Analytics Practice and Capability at the NSW Data Analytics Centre. Originally trained as a physicist he has twenty years experience in the public sector at Commonwealth and State levels. He has worked at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority, the Taxation Office and the NSW Department of Family and Community Services in a range of roles working with data and using analysis to shape compliance, public awareness, and workforce planning strategies.

At the Data Analytics Centre he is responsible for managing a team of data scientists and analysts who work with NSW public sector agencies to address challenging issues, cross-agency strategies and wicked policy problems.
