Melanie Evans is Head of Retail Banking at ING Australia, with responsibility for customer experience, distribution, product, marketing, digital, contact centres and business lending.
Melanie started her career with St.George Bank in 1995, gaining experience in product management before joining Westpac’s broking arm as Product and Marketing Manager.
In 2003, Melanie moved across to BT Financial Group where she spent almost a decade in senior leadership roles encompassing product, brand, marketing, superannuation and retail investments. She then returned to retail banking within the Westpac Group, leading teams across the mortgage, transformation and business banking units.
Melanie is a strong proponent of digital transformation, and its impact on delivering an exceptional customer experience. In the area of leadership, she spends her time focused on developing a diverse range of leaders from many backgrounds.
She holds a Masters in Professional Accounting and a Masters in Commerce from the University of New South Wales, and has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course. Outside of work, Melanie is a mother of two and volunteers her time as an independent director of Surf Life Saving Australia.
