Susan Calvert is the Assistant Secretary of the Office of the National Data Commissioner in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Susan is leading the implementation of whole-of-government reforms to improve the sharing of government data to support policy and programs, services and research while maintaining privacy and security.
Susan has extensive experience in driving government reforms and has successfully operationalised principles based legislation for the NSW Government. She led the Premier’s Delivery Unit in the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet and introduced measurable targets to improve government performance. She facilitated data sharing across government agencies and worked closely with data agencies to track government performance against the targets. She also drove a number of innovative approaches to data sharing in the NSW Government, opening up government data for community benefits.
