Agus currently works for Chevron IndoAsia Business Unit, as General Manager Information Technology, based in Jakarta, managing an annual budget in the excess of US$ 100 million, with 300+ workforces. He started his career as a systems engineer at Honeywell-Bull and entered into oil & gas industry by joining Huffco as a computer programmer, in Singapore, then worked in oil fields in East Kalimantan, and later moved to Jakarta, including work assignments in Sumatra, and United States. Before joining Chevron, he served as ICT (Information & Communication Technology) Manager at VICO Indonesia and Senior IT Manager at Unocal Indonesia and as Managing Partner of an IT consulting (foreign direct investment) firm.
His projects and roles at Chevron have included delivering Global Information Link to the IndoAsia region (a $50++ million project) and establishing an IT-Business strategic plan for global upstream drilling while working for Chevron Energy Technology Company in Houston, Texas, USA (2010-2011). In his current role, he manages the whole spectrum of information technology and management for Chevron IndoAsia, covering the key geographic operating areas of Sumatra, Kalimantan, Java, West Papua, and the Philippines plus other growth areas in South East Asia. The wealth of strategy-to-execution IT experiences includes merger, acquisition and divestiture aspects.
He contributes to several professional organizations and community engagements including establishing and leading the IT and Data Management Committee of the Indonesia Petroleum Association. He is a member of the Enterprise Board of Advisors for Intel Asia Pacific, a member of Asia-Pacific CIO Council (Chief Information Officer) for Microsoft, the IT Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, and Chief Patron for CIO-Honour Indonesia.
Agus is Chairman of iCIO Community, the Association of Indonesia Chief Information Officer, an independent professional organization of senior Information Technology leaders and decision makers from various industries.
