Greg's portfolio includes RaboDirect which is the bank's direct banking businesses and group marketing and communications. As a member of the bank's Executive Team, Greg also have broader responsibilities including strategic direction, leadership, diversity & inclusion and participation on a range of oversight committees and project sponsorship.
Greg is passionate about starting up and leading digital businesses, he wrote the business case and launched Ireland's first direct bank, RaboDirect.ie in 2005. Starting with an unknown brand the direct bank became a household name and remained steadfastly strong during the banking collapse in Ireland. Greg was awarded Ireland's Marketer of the Year in 2005. RaboDirect won multiple awards including KPMG's Best Retail Bank.
In Sep 2008, Greg moved to Sydney with Rabobank and turned around RaboPlus.com.au by restructuring the operation, developed a challenger brand proposition, talent management and redesigned product and pricing strategies. Rebranded the direct bank to RaboDirect and grew the deposit book by 53% CAGR over a 5 year period. Win 4 Golden Effies for marketing effectiveness. Savings Institution of the Year for 3 years running.
Greg took over responsibility for the oversight of RaboDirect New Zealand in 2012 and has worked with the team to revitalise the brand proposition, talent management and introduce more discipline with pricing strategies and analytics.
Greg was promoted to Group Executive level in 2012 and took on the additional responsibility of group marketing & communications in 2013. The development and delivery of bank wide digital strategy is a key focus incorporating data analytics and mobility both for internal staff and the enrichment of the customer experience.
