Mike Webb

Chief Information Officer / Department of the Treasury

Mike is the Chief Information Officer at the Commonwealth Treasury. He is responsible for IT strategy, operations, processes and information management. The Treasury’s IT team provide support for exhibition and gallery technology, delivery of IT infrastructure and services, information security systems and compliance, administrative systems, and client support services. 

Mike has a technical background with strengths in architecture and infrastructure technologies. He holds a Masters of Management in Information Technology and numerous industry qualifications including a Microsoft Certified Systems Expert: Server Infrastructure, Nutanix Platform Professional, is a Certified Ethical Hacker and a VMWare Certified Professional. 

Prior to joining the Treasury, Mike was CIO at the National Museum of Australia, and held positions including Senior Infrastructure Architect, Manager and Enterprise Architect at the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science where he drove innovation through major infrastructure projects including private and hybrid cloud, cloud automation, infrastructure modernisation, Whole of Government web systems, and VANguard authentication services. Mike was a finalist for the Australian Computer Society’s Young ICT Professional of the Year in 2012 for his work on the VANguard programme.
