Paul Wan

Interim CIO HK and Head, Risk & Controls Information Technology & Operations / Standard Chartered Bank (HK)

 

Paul is Interim Chief Information Office HK since Apr 2016 and the Head of Risk & Controls for Information Technology and Operations in Hong Kong since Jan 2011. Prior to his current position, Paul has held various management positions and celebrates his 15th year of anniversary at Standard Chartered in August this year. He is the Chairman for HKAB e-Banking Security committee & Cyber Security Working Group for the year of 2016.

Joined SCBHK in 2001, Paul was Senior Manager at Credit Card and Personal Loans, Consumer Banking, responsible for various functions. In 2007, Paul was seconded to Merchant Solutions Private Limited (MSPL) as Chief Operating Officer. MSPL was a joint venture company formed by First Data and SCB and was the business platform for Merchant Acquiring across 9 markets in Asia Pacific. In 2009, Paul returned to the Bank as Programme Director for Group Assurance and played a key role of conducting Thematic Reviews and Local Key Control Self Assessment refurbishments across countries within SCB footprint.

Before joining SCBHK, Paul was Director, emerging technologies at Visa International and had had more than 7 years of professional experiences in the card payment industry. Paul was a graduate trainee at IBM Australia.

Married with two daughters, Paul is an “Includer” who works best with people from different background with different perspective.
