Philippa manages a team in the Wellington City Council that is responsible for creating and supporting an environment for innovation in Wellington City. This includes the execution of the Wellington City Digital Strategy - to increase the city’s international reputation as a Digital Creative Capital City.
Philippa works with the Wellington tech sector to identify opportunities to increase the flow of people and knowledge to and from the city and to create the environment for our technology companies to start, grow and excel.
Projects include Wellington’s technology hub, several linked city sensing projects and investigating the feasibility of a film precinct as well as smaller projects that position Wellington as New Zealand’s Smart Capital.
Prior to this Philippa was Director of Painted Pony Limited, a company that specialised in government relations and policy for the screen and tech sectors and before that she worked as Principal Advisor to New Zealand’s Minister of Broadcasting.
