Tom is the Chief Technology and Digital Officer for the City of Sydney. He is responsible for leading the City in Digital, Technology and Innovation. Tom has proven success in senior digital and application management leadership roles within large complex environments. He is a highly regarded technical director with an ability to integrate teams to deliver complex IT-enabled change projects, with skill to align and inform stakeholders at all levels.
Tom specialises in both start up and enterprise environments. Having worked with and consulted to a number of startups and also large corporate environments in the past. Tom has authored reference books on enterprise Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for software development, and holds digital innovation patents on DOOH targeted advertising and IoT.
Tom holds a Doctorate in IT, specialising in enterprise software security and the implementation of security as a strategy. His academic work was presented at the Internet Technology and Secured Transactions (ICITST) conference in London, a large international IT security conference and was published in reputable international IT journals. He was awarded the ETSA Utilities Postgraduate ERP Prize for first place during his doctorate studies.
