A new online tax calculator will give users the chance to calculate the value of their tax deductible donation to help end cancer.

The Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) has partnered with tax giant H&R Block to deliver the online calculator, which tells individuals how much tax they will receive back from donations, along with an explanation as exactly what their donation has the capacity to fund.

“We hope that by being transparent and showing donors how much influence even a small donation can have on the work that’s being done in cancer research, it will help them understand how truly valuable their support is,” said ACRF chief executive Ian Brown.

Donations received by the ACRF in 2015 were put towards equipment that will be used to further develop the science behind personalised cancer treatments as well as detecting lung cancer in its early stages.

H&R Block managing director, Brodie Dixon, was confident that the partnership would harness technology for a good cause, as well as increasing awareness of the importance of cancer donation research.

“At H&R Block we value the health and wellbeing of all Australians, so we’re proud to assist ACRF in its goal to deliver the highest impact in an area of vital need,” he said.

“Even a small part of the solution is both humbling and gratifying.”
