In a report by the Financial Times, NAB’s Chief Executive, Cameron Clyne has been pegged as a contender for one of the “toughest jobs in UK Banking”. In the report, Clyne is listed as one of Financial Times’ list of potential challengers for Stephen Hester’s Chief Executive role at Royal Bank of Scotland, as he prepares to step down from the role before the end of this year.
Andrew Henderson, CIO at ING Direct has been promoted into a global role after close to four years at the company’s Australian retail banking operations. Henderson will be responsible for everything from core data centre technology through to security, monitoring and management of the bank’s global IT infrastructure and engagement with managed service providers. Starting 1 September, Henderson will be based in ING’s head office in Amsterdam and will report directly to ING’s recently-appointed Global CIO, Ron van Kemenade.
Deustche Chief Executive John Macfarlane and head of corporate finance Scott Perkins are retiring from the bank, it has been announced. They will be replaced by long-time executive Michael Ormaechea, who will become head of corporate banking and securities for Australia and New Zealand in addition to his existing Asia Pacific responsibilities for FICC and Equities.
John Chauvel has been appointed Managing Director of Debt Capital Markets at Westpac Institutional Bank. John was most recently the Head of the Financial Institutions Group, Australia, at ANZ for six years.
