Korawut Leenabanchong will join Aberdeen Asset Management as Chief Executive in Thailand beginning on the 1st of July, he will vacate his role as Chief Investment Officer at UOB Asset Management. It follows the departure of Sujaree Junsawang, Director of Finance and Operations, and acting Country Head for Thailand at Aberdeen Asset Management.

Larry Chi will join Deutsche Bank, leaving his role as Head of Asia General Sales and Fixed Income at Morgan Stanley to take up the position of Head of Corporate Banking and Securities for Deutsche Bank, China.

 

Nigel Knowles will join Insurer MetLife  as its new Head of Capital and Reinsurance Strategy for Asia in July and will be based in Hong Kong. He leaves his position as a Principal in Milliman’s Asia insurance consulting practice.

 

Chris Wei will join Aviva as Chief Executive of Global Life Insurance and Chairman of its Asia region, leaving his former role of Chief Executive of Asia’s Great Eastern Holdings Ltd in September.

 

Roy Teo has taken up the position as Global Head of Investment Bank Technology Risk at Barclays, Teo told FST Media he takes on the role in the interim while changes are made at the bank. He moves from his previous position as Director, Head of Technology Risk, Asia Pacific.

 

Sander Hamersma will move from his role as Head of Communications and Media to become the new Head of Technology, Media, and Telecoms for Asia Pacific at Barclays.

 

Rafael Carrillo has been named regional co-head of Barclay’s financial institutions group, he was previously head of FIG for Southeast Asia.

 

Sheng Wu has been appointed head of Barclay’s investment banking division for Greater China and Vanessa Koo has been appointed head of Asia-Pacific Mergers and Acquisitions, replacing Edward King, who held the role previously and is now Executive Chairman, Globar Mergers and Acquisitions for Barclays.

 

Andy Jones, has been appointed Barclays’ interim head of investment banking in Asia, while Johan Leven, Barclays’ Asia-Pacific head of corporate finance, and Helge Weiner-Trapness, head of the bank’s Asia-Pacific FIG both left the bank.

 

Martin Haythorne and Liu Che-Ning have been appointed as co-heads of banking for Asia-Pacific at HSBC with both roles based in Hong Kong. They will replace Russell Julius, who will move to London according to reports.

 

Rohit Chatterji has been appointed by JPMorgan  Chase & Co to lead mergers and acquisitions for Asia ex Japan, replacing Rob Sivitilli who has resigned from the position.

 

Mark Slaughter has been named as Citi’s new Head of Corporate and Investment Banking for Asia Pacific, and will move from his current position of Global Chief Operating Officer for Corporate and Investment Banking based in New York. He replaces the role vacated by Farhan Faruqui in May.
