3D secure payment technology launched in Asia

Asian payments service provider (PSP), Omise, has integrated Netcetera’s 3D Secure (3DS) Server technology to better protect and increase security on online payments and transactions in the APAC region.

Omise is one of the first PSP customers to implement the EMV 3DS 2.2 protocol through Netcetera’s server, to increase transaction approval rates and lower the risk of fraud.

This comes as PSPs and merchants continue to update protocols and reduce the occurrence of non-authenticated transactions, associated refunds and lost revenue, which also enables a more seamless customer shopping experience and “frictionless flow” of funds.

“After a thorough evaluation and investigation of different suppliers and products, we decided on Netcetera with their flexible, agile and independent payment offering,” Jatuporn Pinnuvat, Head of Product Innovation at Omise, said.

“We consider their 3DS server as the most reliable and viable product to support secure and convenient transactions.

“The implementation was smooth and efficient, and we were able to save a lot of time and effort thanks to the comprehensive technical documentation, educational webinars and Netcetera’s professional support.”

Omise provides payments services to thousands of merchants in the APAC region, signalling the need to stay on top of payments security and customer experience.

“We are convinced that we can bring value to the payment industry with our certified and state-of-the-art products, driving e-commerce payment forward,” Kiril Milev, Managing Director of Netcetera Singapore, said.

“With this implementation at Omise, we are able to strengthen our presence in the APAC region.”
