MAS launches 2022 MoneySense Campaign 692

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has announced the launch of the 2022 MoneySense Campaign, seeking to empower Singaporeans with the financial knowledge and confidence to take control of their financial wellbeing and plan for retirement.

This year’s campaign, running till the end of November, comes after the 2021 MoneySense National Financial Capability Survey (NFCS) found that while the money management behaviours of Singaporeans had improved, more could be done to promote longer-term financial planning.

The campaign has encouraged Singaporeans to subscribe to complimentary retirement planning workshops held by the Institute of Financial Literacy, where they will receive “comprehensive, step-by-step guidance on how to plan for retirement and deal with inflation”.

The MAS has also unveiled a Financial Health Check tool, where individuals can complete a self-assessment in five minutes to receive tailored recommendations on actions that can improve their financial health.

The campaign also features a digital financial planning solution, MyMoneySense, allowing individuals to access and consolidate their financial data from government and banks through the Singapore Financial Data Exchange (SGFinDex).

Free-to-air programs, including an infotainment game show, a documentary series and short videos, will be broadcast on national television as part of the campaign. Events including MyMoney@Campus, MyMoney@Public and World Investor Week will also be held to provide tips and solutions on how to manage finances and develop financial literacy to plan for a better retirement.
