Incumbent chief executive of ANZ Laos, Anna Green, was announced as the next chief executive of ANZ Philippines.

Ms Green will assume her new role on 1 August, 2017, subject to regulatory approval.

Green currently serves as CEO for ANZ Laos, having joined the ANZ Group in 2004. Previously, Green held senior roles in risk and regulation for ANZ across the Asia Pacific regio

David Green, CEO Singapore and Head of South East Asia, India and the Middle East for ANZ, welcomed Ms Green’s appointment as a boon for ANZ’s ASEAN franchises.

“We have a strong franchise in the Philippines, where local corporate and financial institutions are increasingly looking for business opportunities across ANZ’s network in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia,” David Green said.

“Anna’s country leadership experience and strong connections across the ASEAN region make her the ideal candidate to lead the team here,” he said.

“Her skills and experience will be extremely valuable in driving our business in the Philippines.”

The announcement comes at a challenging time for ANZ’s remaining Asian franchises following the recent sell-off of their retail and wealth management businesses in Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and Indonesia to Singapore’s DBS bank. The future of ANZ franchises in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and the Philippines remains under review.

ANZ is expected to announce Ms Green’s replacement for CEO Laos shortly.
