Fiona Floyd has left her role as Chief Information Officer at Suncorp Life, as the organisation undergoes an internal restructure. A replacement has yet to be named by the insurance arm of the group.

A Suncorp spokesperson confirmed Floyd’s departure, saying the group has been focusing on reworking roles and responsibilities since Matt Pancino was appointed CEO of Shared Business Services earlier this year.

The spokesperson could not confirm whether Floyd’s departure was part of the restructure, but said “the organisation is looking at a broader scope for the shared services provision of technology for Life Insurance.”

In her time at Suncorp Life, Floyd and her team worked on simplifying the back-end technology architecture, and successfully deploying the online framework which enabled Suncorp’s direct life business offerings.

In an interview earlier this year with FST Media Floyd said, “I would like to be remembered as a values-driven leader who created an environment in which her teams thrived and the business succeeded.”

UPDATE (July 30): Floyd told FST Media she is now looking for her next opportunity, "Having successfully completed the BT transformation at Suncorp Life, I am exploring some Non Executive Director opportunities, while looking for my next challenge, which may or may not be in FSI.”
