Citi have announced the appointment of Amol Gupte as Citi Country Officer (CCO) for Singapore and Head of ASEAN.

Pending regulatory approval, Gupte will step into the roles which will oversee Citi’s Singapore businesses and operations and be responsible for the leadership of Citi’s ASEAN markets. This includes developing and implementing strategy across

Gupte will replace Michael Zink, who is retiring after nearly 30 years with Citi. He will relocate from Hong Kong to Singapore and is himself a 27 year veteran of the company.

“Amol’s international experience in building and managing key businesses will be vital to our ongoing commitment to our clients in Singapore and throughout ASEAN,” said Asia Pacific chief executive officer, Francisco Aristeguieta.

“Singapore and the wider ASEAN market is a strategic priority for Citi, where we have built one of our largest and most diversified businesses.”

Citi has been in Singapore for close to 115 years, with banking operations across Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand.
