Nepal Electronic Payment Systems Limited (NEPS) has deployed BPC Banking Technologies’ SmartVista suite.

BPC Banking Technologies will replace the legacy payment systems for all bank and process member bank transactions. Machhapuchchhre Bank Limited, Sunrise Bank Limited, Janata Bank Nepal Limited, Siddhartha Bank Limited, NIC Asia Bank Limited and Citizens Bank International Limited are already processing all card transactions through NEPS.

The integration of NEPS and the SmartVista suite has been designed to provide a single payments infrastructure, innovation which Kathmandu-based NEPS chief executive, Anish Tamrakar, said would increase the ease with which people process payments.

“This initiative changes the game for payments throughout the country providing ultimate convenience for citizens and travellers,” he said.

“It will provide the foundation for Nepal to be well positioned for all future payments innovation.”

The collaboration is expected to help NEPS’ eight core members to build payments interoperability across the country.
