February saw a number of high-profile appointments across the financial services sector, with noteworthy additions to ANZ, IAG, and AIA Australia.

Australia

MLC Life Insurance​ has appointed ​Sarv Girn​ to the position of ​Chief Innovation and Transformation Officer. Girn previously served as the RBA’s Chief Information Officer.​

ANZ Banking Group has appointed Kevin Corbally to the position of Chief Risk Officer.

AIA Australia has appointed Charlotte Ward to the position of People and Culture Officer.

Insurance Australia Group (IAG) has appointed three senior marketing leaders: Zara Curtis to the position of Director of Content; Caroline Hugall to the position of Group Brand Strategy Director; Sally Kiernan to the position of NRMA Insurance Marketing Director.

IAG has also appointed David Watts to the position of Chief Risk Officer, effective 11 September 2018, and Neil Morgan to the position of Group Executive of Technology.

The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has appointed three Directors to its board: Vivek Bhatia, Chief Executive Officer, Australian & New Zealand Operations, QBE Insurance; Richard Feledy, Managing Director, Allianz Australia; and Sue Houghton, General Manager of Insurance, BT Financial Group.

ANZ Banking Group has appointed John Key to its Board of Directors. Key served as Prime Minister of New Zealand from November 2008 to December 2016.

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has appointed Lucien Wong to its Board of Directors.
