August saw a number of high-profile appointments and departures across the financial services sector, with noteworthy additions to Westpac, AMP, and Standard Chartered Bank.

Westpac has appointed Craig Bright to the position of Chief Information Officer, following the retirement of Dave Curran at the end of January 2019.

AMP has appointed Francesco De Ferrari to the position of Chief Executive. De Ferrari will assume the role from 1 December 2018.

TAL has appointed Matt Paterson to the position of General Manager Customer Operations and Underwriting.

Heritage Bank has appointed Richard Claydon to the position of Head of Strategy Delivery. Claydon has served as acting Head of Strategy Delivery since February 2018.

Following the acquisition of ANZ OnePath insurance by Zurich Australia, Zurich has announced a number of senior personnel changes:

-Gavin Pearce has been appointed Life and Investments Chief Operating Officer at Zurich. Pearce currently serves as ANZ Managing Director, Insurance;
-Gerard Kerr has been appointed Head of OnePath Propositions and Group Insurance at Zurich. Kerr currently serves as ANZ Head of Life Insurance;
-Linda Griffin has been appointed Investments Head of Customer and Corporate Affairs, Zurich Life and Investments. Griffin currently serves as ANZ Head of Corporate Affairs and Strategy;
-Kristine Brooks has been appointed as the head the distribution and marketing teams of the expanded business; Brooks currently serves as Chief Distribution Officer at Zurich Life and Investments;
-Kieran Forde has been appointed Head of Bancassurance at Zurich. Forde will also oversee the relationship between Zurich and ANZ.

Macquarie has formally appointed chief executive Shemara Wikramanayake to its board; Macquarie has also appointed Philip Coffey to the position of independent director on the Macquarie Group (MQG) and Macquarie Bank (MBL) boards.

SocietyOne has appointed Mark Jones to the position of Chief Executive. Jones previously served as Chief Financial Officer of consumer banking at Westpac.

NAB has announced the retirement of Chief Operating Officer Antony Cahill.

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank has appointed Vicki Carter as Non-Executive Director to its board.

AMP Limited has appointed John Fraser as Non-Executive Director to its board.

ANZ has appointed Jodi West to the position of Chief Executive, Vietnam.

Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Deniz Güven to the position of Chief Executive of a new Hong Kong-based virtual bank, pending the approval of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA).

Standard Chartered Bank has also appointed Patrick Lee to the position of Chief Executive, Singapore.

Manulife Philippines has appointed Ariel Magtoto to the position of Chief Operating Officer.

The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), has appointed Tori Cowley to the position of Group Chief Communications Officer.
