Adrian is the Chief Payments & Schemes Officer of Australian Payments Plus (AP+). The Payments and Schemes team is focussed on delivering products that meet the payments needs of Australian retailers and businesses, incorporating the full range of capabilities within AP+. This includes responsibility for product management and development, payment strategy, scheme management and business operations and delivery.
Before the formation of AP+, Adrian commenced as the inaugural CEO of NPP Australia Limited in September 2016. Launched to the Australian public in February 2018, the New Payments Platform connects over 90 million accounts, providing Australian businesses and consumers with a fast, flexible, data-rich payments system for making their everyday payments, and supporting future growth and innovation. Adrian’s team led the launch of NPP and its growth including the development and launch of new NPP functionality.
From early 2020, Adrian drove a process over two years that led to the creation of AP+ through the formation of the Industry Committee and agreement, ACCC authorisation, integration planning and transaction completion.
Prior to joining NPP Australia Ltd, Adrian was General Manager, Product & Service at Cuscal. Adrian was responsible for all product management and operational functions, marketing, sales, and client service.
Adrian has an honours degree in Law from Queensland University of Technology and an MBA from Melbourne Business School.
