After commencing his career in private legal practice in 1999, Chris moved to the North America in 2004 and spent time working for the City of Calgary, followed by five years working for Thomson Reuters, the #1 Financial Data Services company in the world (Fortune Magazine). During his time with Thomson, Chris regularly consulted with the world’s largest law firms, including Skadden Arps, Clifford Chance, and Sullivan and Cromwell.
After returning to Australia in 2010, Chris spent time as General Counsel for Wingecarribee Shire Council and Liverpool City Council, before being appointed to the position of Director City Corporate at Liverpool City Council in 2017.
Chris’s background in the digital world has been heavily flavoured by his time spent with Thomson Reuters – arguably the most innovative and trusted digital information company in the world. In his time with Thomson Reuters, Chris became a strong advocate for the value of technology in the workplace, and the need for forward thinking in anticipating and responding to the rapid evolution of the digital world. This experience is currently being applied in marshalling the technological revolution of Liverpool City, the Aerotropolis Council.
