I am a Manager of Digital & ICT for the Hauora Māori Service at Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora. This new organisation is leading the transformation of health care delivery for Māori in Aotearoa New Zealand. I have over 20 years of experience in operations management, project management, and community engagement across various sectors, including freight, logistics, housing, and health and dental.
My core competencies include developing and implementing data and digital strategies that enable transformational change and address intergenerational Māori health inequities. I have a proven track record of engaging with Iwi, Hapū, Marae, and Māori communities, applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and fostering cultural competency and inclusion. I have successfully established community health centres, addressing critical social determinants of health such as dental health and housing. I am proficient in te ao Māori and Tikanga, and committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. I am passionate about creating a new health system that is focused on people, patients, communities, and kaimahi/healthcare workers.
In my spare time, I dedicate myself to teaching AI as an empowering tool for indigenous communities through my academy, The Ai Marae. Since 2022, we have been delivering our programs with an online reach of over 24 million across 17 countries via https://www.theaimarae.co.nz/
