Eddo van Loenen is CIO at the South Taranaki District Council. He is currently leading a program of work to achieve digital transformation and increased compliance. This program involves projects like windows10 upgrade, an IT governance process, a complete IT infrastructure replace, an organisation wide documentation of business processes, an ERP review and creating awareness of the fact that data is only an asset when correct and complete.
Eddo has worked internationally in a wide range of capacities and industries. He has 25 years’ experience in IT and finds that having an MBA enables him to ensure IT is well aligned with business goals and has a customer focus.
He was part of the team that developed the CD player at Phillips in the Netherlands, has been consulting to Banque Paribas in London working on the implementation of desktop management across 20,000 workstations, has been Group IT manager for the Apple fields group managing production Information systems across orchards, pack house and corporate services.
Furthermore, Eddo has been IT manager at two leading Universities in New Zealand and Belgium where he introduced centralized IT services, shared services and the introduction of strategic research applications.
Across his career, he has been passionate about ensuring that IT aligns with business goals, is easy to use and has customer focus.
