Mah Kam Lin is the newly minted Group Data Scientist for Malayan Banking Berhad. She holds a Bachelor degree in Physics and a post-graduate qualification in Computing from The Flinders’ and Adelaide Universities respectively.
She is a practising data professional with almost 30 years of technical and management experience, including areas of satellite space operations, mechanical & electrical, civil & structural engineering cum management, business operations, mobile technology, sales and marketing, geo-marketing and business intelligence in Telecommunications and most recently in the Banking industry with Maybank.
Kamlin is one of the first two qualified and certified satellite orbital analysts in Malaysia and consequently took part in planning, building, launching and operating Malaysia’s first and second satellites namely Measat-1 and Measat-2.
Kamlin’s passion in data handling was evident from the onset of her career and through the combination of technical knowledge and business acumen, she developed a robust applied data science methodology that serves as a key business planning and strategy development tool, so much so it earned international recognition as one of the five finalists at the 2010 World Communication Award held in London.
She has in recent months, established The Centre of Excellence in Data Analytics for Malayan Banking Group and correspondingly developed the overarching curriculum of the programme.
