Mark Fernandes has joined Micro Focus as the Global (SecOps) Cyber Defense Strategist. In his previous role Mr. Fernandes was a Global Cyber Leader at Accenture, with over thirty (30) years of experience in Cybersecurity, twenty-seven (27) of which he served the Big-4 Consulting firms (E&Y and Deloitte).
Mr. Fernandes is well connected globally with key strategic customer relationships in the America’s, Europe and Asia. Given his tenure in consulting, Mark Fernandes also has deep relationships with key consulting firms and System Integrators. Mark Fernandes formerly served as the Group (Global) Technology Officer for Accenture Security. In his role he leads the overall Cyber technology strategy, innovation and the use of exponentials for serving Accenture’s clients. This includes advancing Accenture Security’s Technology, Cyber Crime, Multi-Channel Fraud, Payment, Insider Threat, Analytics, Machine Learning, Cognitive and AI capability to help drive Accenture’s future thinking from a Managed Services and Advanced Threat perspective.
Prior to Accenture, Mark Fernandes spent twenty (20) years with Deloitte where he served as the Global Innovation Officer for Deloitte Cyber. During this tenure he drove some of the most advanced cyber tech asset solution development, many of them utilized Micro Focus technology to accelerate the adoption of Deloitte’s Managed Services. Mr. Fernandes has worked with some of the most complex organizations globally to build advanced cyber command centers, with a focus on pragmatic but effective continuously evolving capability. The objective is to build counter-threat capability to advanced actors that change their Tools, Tactics and Procedures (TTP’s).
Mr. Fernandes is also considered a pioneer in Security Operations, having launched some of the first centers in the mid 90’s including the first rollout of the US Federal SOC for the US 2000 Presidential Elections. He will be using this experience and expertise to help us accelerate our innovation in our product platform.
