Matt Chamley has recently been appointed as the Director of Technology for VMware ANZ. In this role, Matt provides technology strategy and leadership guidance to our customers and leads a team of engineers who design technology solutions that build the digital foundation for our customer’s businesses.
Matt joins VMware with nearly 20 years’ customer-side experience. This experience provides Matt with a unique perspective when it comes to ensuring the effective delivery of VMware’s services within customers’ existing architectures.
Prior to joining VMware, Matt held the position of Head of IT Services Australia at PwC. In this role, Matt led the IT service strategy, engineering and operations for PwC Australia. He was also responsible for the development of PwC Australia’s DevOps operating model, working with his team to mature modern IT delivery across public and private clouds.
Prior to PwC, Matt held leadership positions at Woolworths Group, Cochlear, Webfirm and Be.interactive. Throughout these roles, He has been a significant contributor to technology and business modernisation, including product development, data analytics, Agile development and DevOps, cloud adoption and infrastructure virtualization. Matt has also been recognized with innovation and leadership awards within these companies.
Before moving into IT, Matt was a member of the Australian Armed Services. After graduating from the Royal Military College at Duntroon, Matt completed 10 years of service, achieving the rank of Captain.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys rock climbing, trekking and spending time with his family.
