Starting out in the public sector 17 years ago in front line case management and dispute resolution, Maya has worked as a privacy professional since 2011. Maya is a member of the Privacy Officers Round table and holds a certificate in Information Privacy Management from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Specialising in establishing effective privacy programmes and advisory functions across central and local government, Maya’s role as Privacy Manager at Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga brings together her firsthand experience of the critical importance of personal information and privacy to the individuals we serve, and how good privacy culture and practices enable better engagement, data quality, service delivery, and trust and confidence.
