Rishad is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and is the past President of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) Auckland Chapter. The Chapter comprises of 317 members across a mixture of industries throughout Auckland, with a remit to further promote and elevate the visibility of the IS audit, control and security profession.
Rishad has over 14 years of risk consulting and industry experience in the UK and New Zealand. For the past ten years Rishad has focused his career within the Financial Services sector in New Zealand for companies such as Heartland Bank, Westpac and ASB across all three lines of defence. More recently Rishad has taken on the challenge of developing the Operational Risk and Compliance function for the New Zealand Automobile Association (NZAA) as the Head of Operational Risk and Compliance. This has involved establishing a three lines of defence across the financial services distribution units, and to develop the risk governance, systems, processes and controls, in time for becoming a Financial Advice Provider (FAP) under the new Conduct regime, regulated by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA).
Rishad also dedicates much of his time as the leader to 18 Kea Scouts aged between 5-7, as part of the Captain Air Scouts group in Half Moon Bay, including his son Anthony who attends Keas weekly.
Rishad also has two daughters, the youngest of which has just started School.
