Sameer is the Chief Analytics Officer at DBS. Sameer has 20+ years of front end banking and financial services experience across commercial excellence, strategic marketing and customer experience, cross sell, change management, analytics and pricing.
He is currently driving the Data First transformation at DBS group with focus around 3 key pillars:
- Culture & Capability: including creating the Analytics Center of Excellence with advanced AI/ML data science and translator skills sets.
- Enable Data Usage: removing friction from data access, updating governance & policies to enable responsible data usage.
- Data platform: building the next generation data/analytics infrastructure.
Before joining DBS, he was at IBM, where he was part of the ASEAN banking COE and before that he was at Standard Chartered Bank consumer bank where he was responsible for driving cross sell & pricing across South East Asia. Prior to that he spent 16 years at GE Capital, in various roles and his last role with them was as Chief Marketing Officer & Business Leader for GE Money Singapore.
At GE, he has led large transformation initiatives in areas such as customer centricity, new product introduction, process reengineering, lean six sigma, acquisition integration, analytics and outsourcing.
He holds a MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta India and is a GE certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He has lived and worked in India, UK & Singapore. He currently lives in Singapore with his wife and 2 young kids.
