Tahir has senior IT and business experience across health insurance, aged care, home care, disability services, wealth management, financial planning and property development industries. Tahir is working as a freelance consultant and adviser since March 2019.
In July 2008, Tahir joined Australian Unity as the Head of Solutions Delivery and in October 2009, he was appointed General Manager (CIO), Business Technology before being appointed Group Executive, Business Technology (CIO) in October 2010 and he was responsible for all technology portfolio including cyber security and digital transformation. Prior to Australian Unity, Tahir was a consultant for 18 months to manage M&A integrations and core systems replacement programs with Australian Unity, Skandia and Commonwealth bank. Tahir worked for Perpetual Limited from 1994 to 2006 in various senior roles with the last role being a Chief Technology Officer.
Tahir has successfully implemented Agile, DevOps and Lean Start-up methodologies to improve business alignment, innovation, software quality and turnaround times for technology solutions. He is also a qualified project director certified by the Australian Institute of Project Management and has managed multi-million dollar projects. Tahir holds Master of Information Technology from University of Wollongong – Australia, graduated Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School and a graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors.
