TPL Trakker Ltd has launched Pakistan’s first indigenously-developed digital mapping solution, featuring more than 300,000km of mapped network across the nation.
Coined ‘TPL Maps’, the platform provides real-time intelligent routing, live traffic updates, turn-by-turn navigation options and smart search features and has the highest number of points-of-interest for mapping services in Pakistan.
TPL Trakker chief executive Ali Jameel said that mapping technology has taken centre stage for fintech and e-commerce, with Pakistan keen to add to the mix with locally developed technology.
“Globally, maps have taken the centre stage for e-commerce, fintech, advertising and games. Today we have enabled Pakistan to leverage the power of Maps for businesses, consumers and the Government sector,” he said.
“This is just the beginning of a new era for technology in the country… and I firmly believe that these localized mapping solutions will provide a holistic navigational experience to people all over Pakistan.”
The data used to develop the mapping solution was collected by a team of IT and GIS analysts over a 15-year period. TPL Maps now has the largest collection of housing data on re
cord including approximately 1,000 3D buildings, 300,000km of road network and one million housing addresses.
