Alex Smart joined Southern Cross Travel Insurance (SCTI) as Head of Digital in 2022.
With more than 20 years’ experience working in senior technology roles in New Zealand and the UK, Alex has a diverse range of skills including technology strategy and leadership, design, digital product management and development. Prior to joining SCTI, Alex delivered digital products such as the virtual GP consultation service, CareHQ, for Southern Cross Health Insurance. In earlier roles Alex led strategic technology programmes at MIT, Counties Manukau District Health Board, and ProCare.
Alex is part of the New Zealand Tech Women Mentoring Circle programme and is passionate about the shape of New Zealand’s future technology workforce.
