Gaurav has held leadership roles in digital banking/payments for 20+ years across ASEAN & South Asia with Visa, Citi Transaction Banking, First Data, JP Morgan Payments, Aditya Birla Capital and Western Union. He has demonstrated solid track record of business growth & currently advising fintech companies on APAC market entry/expansion.
As Regional VP Southeast & North Asia, Western Union he owned entire P&L of cross border payments (digital, retail in-store and through partners) across 12 countries – grew key markets like Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and Hong Kong. He was a board member of Western Union subsidiaries in Singapore & Japan.
As Head of Digital channels (JP Morgan Payments, Singapore, 2019-23) he developed & commercialised modern internet, mobile, APIs for B2B space for corporates, Banks and fintech to deliver real-time and cross border payments.
As Chief Digital Officer (Mumbai, 2015-19) built Aditya Birla Capital’s digital platform to deliver digital sales & service by integrating products across lending, insurance, asset management powered by analytics. Scaled up new customers, retention and cross holding across products.
Additionally was CEO of Aditya Birla MyUniverse a fintech providing an integrated view of customer’s financial relationships. In this role he reported to the board (Group CEO, IFC & Independent directors)
