Rong Hwa oversees the Engineering Cluster in the Cybersecurity Group at the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech). His team helps to secure the Singapore Government’s Smart Nation initiatives and digital services by delivering technical security assessments and engineering cybersecurity products.
Prior to joining GovTech, he held roles such as senior architect, engineering manager, and malware researcher in cybersecurity product companies and Computer Emergency Response Teams. He led research and engineering teams to combat against advanced threats, such as advanced persistent threats and their zero-day vulnerability exploits. Rong Hwa graduated from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore (NTU) as the Valedictorian of his cohort.
